Launch of centre boosts Saudi service capability
A new service centre opened in Saudi Arabia is a step forward in the on-going programme to ease the way international customers can benefit from the company unparalleled service and support capability
A new service centre opened in Saudi Arabia represents yet another step forward in John Crane's on-going programme to increase the ease with which international customers can benefit from the company unparalleled service and support capability.
Located in Dammam, the new centre is the first of its type in the Gulf region, and now provides customers with rapid and easy access to state-of-the-art gas seal testing, refurbishment and service facilities.
Although John Crane provides customer support and service on a genuinely global scale, facilities such as the new Saudi centre play a vital role in making that service available on a local level.
Housed in a purpose-built extension to the premises of the John Crane partner company Hamed A Al-Zamil and Brothers Co, the centre is the result of over GBP300,000 of investment by John Crane.
Customers will largely be drawn from Saudi and from Qatar, and the strategic importance of the centre is expected to grow over the coming years as Saudi continues to develop its own gas fields.
John Crane has previously operated a wet seal sales, engineering and repair service in Dammam.
The new facility allows the company's gas seal customers to benefit from significant reductions in turnaround times on repair and maintenance projects.
Fully trained and experienced engineers can analyse seal failures, refurbish the seals and also complete full dynamic testing under typical operating conditions to ensure complete satisfaction.
The Centre also supplies genuine spare parts which can be held as bonded stocks on behalf of individual customers in order to greatly reduce repair times.
"This is the latest in a growing list of International Service Centres which we have opened," comments John Crane EAA Commercial Director Ray Dorey.
"Like those we launched recently in Russia and Singapore, the news of the Saudi facility has been greeted with considerable enthusiasm by our customers in the region.
John Crane's association with the Al-Zamil organisation in Saudi Arabia stretches back over a decade and we are delighted that they have again provided us with the very highest level of support in this new venture.
"On a strategic level new centres such as this one emphasize our firm commitment to providing customers with local support no matter what their location.
In practical terms they provide huge benefits, enabling customers to witness their own seals being tested, disassembled and refurbished.
This often provides valuable insights into the operation of seals under real conditions, and helps customers identify root causes of any associated equipment failures." The opening of the new centre was attended by a number of VIPs, including Her Britannic Majesty's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Sherard Cowper-Coles.
