Leading sealing technology provider John Crane EAA recently played host to a royal guest when HRH The Duke of Kent visited the company's UK headquarters in Slough The Duke's tour of the Buckingham Avenue premises took in many aspects of the John Crane activities and allowed him to view a wide range of their mechanical seal and sealing support system products

He visited manufacturing, testing, lapping, dispatch and clean-room assembly areas where he met members of the John Crane workforce.

The Duke's welcome party was led by John Crane UK Operations Director Neil Hodge, and Mike Mansell, Managing Director of John Crane EAA.

They outlined the company's plans to expand and upgrade many of the current facilities in Slough, and demonstrated the principles of the LIFE lean manufacturing process which John Crane has implemented with great success over recent years.

The Duke was accompanied on his visit by Paul Orchard-Lisle, Chairman of Slough Estates, who co-hosted the visit, and the Lord Lieutenant of Royal Berkshire, Philip Wroughton.
