Non-contact type 2800X sealing in non-turbo use
A new John Crane brochure describes the Type 2800X non-contacting dual seals, outlining their particular suitability to large-bore, non-turbo rotating equipment applications
Central to the brochure is the ability of a Safematic system to provide reliable, trouble-free and automatic lubrication in plant and process equipment, and so help promote maximum running time and significantly extended intervals between critical equipment repairs.
The brochure also includes details of the various components that comprise a typical Safematic solution, including two new items - the MaxiLube pumping centre and the LG-ind doser operation indicator.
The compact new MaxiLube pumping center is designed for easy installation and combines the previously separate hydraulic and control units into one integrated component.
It can be used to control and monitor either one or two separate lubrication channels or pumping units, and provides control either via a John Crane Safematic multi-channel control unit, through the customer's own control system or through remote monitoring with mobile phone SMS messages.
The LG-ind doser operation indicator provides greater overall control of a lubrication system by remotely monitoring the operation of each individual doser via a sensor which recognizes the movement of the doser piston.
If doser operation is not detected during a lubrication cycle, an alarm is sent to the control unit or the customer control system.
The indicator need not be installed in each doser, and can be fitted to critical sites only.
Safematic systems not only help limit the shutdowns and damage which result from inadequate lubrication, but also increase safety by eliminating the need to manually lubricate running machinery.
Although particularly popular for pulp and paper, wood processing and food industry applications, Safematic products can provide reliable, flexible and easily expandable lubrication solutions for all types of industries.
They can also be used to service individual machines or complete production plants.
