The emphasis of John Crane's presence at ONS 2006 will be placed firmly on the specialist products and technologies that the company provides for the global oil, gas and petrochemical industries

The emphasis of the John Crane exhibition stand at ONS 2006 will be placed firmly on both the specialist products that the company manufactures for the global oil, gas and petrochemical industries and the leading-edge technology which the company provides to its customers in these sectors.

Together these elements combine to form reliable, effective and proven solutions to a wide range of sealing, power coupling and equipment monitoring requirements.

REAL-TIME ASSET MANAGEMENT SOLUTION.

On show for the first time ever at ONS 2006 will be the John Crane groundbreaking new asset surveillance technology which will be demonstrated live.

Set to revolutionise the way in which oil operators maintain pumps, seals and many other types of asset, the system offers a unique combination of continuous real-time data monitoring and wireless remote operating capabilities.

Together these features provide the end user with a far more effective condition monitoring solution at a fraction of the cost of a traditional cabled system.

It delivers improved asset performance and increased availability at minimum cost and will help operators continue to work in ever-more inhospitable locations.

Unlike conventional cabled systems that are expensive and difficult to install, no cabling is required to relay information on vibration, thermographics, torque and many other parameters back to the user.

This dramatically reduces installation costs and speeds the installation process.

The system processes collected data locally before using purpose-designed wireless technology to deliver it to the user in a clear and concise format.

This information can also be easily accessed via the internet by the use of John Crane bespoke software.

THE LATEST WORLD-LEADING WET SEAL TECHNOLOGY.

Leading the selection of world-leading products displayed on the John Crane ONS 2006 stand will be its upstream pumping seal, developed from the unique John Crane Active Lift Technology.

It delivers a rare combination of greatly increased life expectancy, ultra-high reliability, extremely low maintenance requirements and reduced costs.

It has already proved its abilities on offshore applications which handle aggressive, high solid-content fluids such as produced waters by providing a highly effective fit-and-forget alternative to the traditional double seal arrangement.

State-of-the-art gas seal principles are used to produce the first ever wet seals with the life expectancy more typical of a gas seal.

These seals are guaranteed to run for at least two years, even in the most difficult offshore duties, and offer an actual life expectancy of three years on produced water applications.

SUPERIOR GAS SEALS.

Also displayed on the ONS stand will be examples of the John Crane world-beating gas seals.

Widely recognised as an established standard for many oil and gas industry applications this technology recently helped win a 2006 Queen's Award for Enterprise for the Turbomachinery Division.

The company is now implementing a GBP2.4 Million investment programme at the Turbomachinery Division and this will ensure that its gas seal products remain able to deliver a wide range of benefits such as increased reliability, reduced maintenance costs and greater operational efficiency.

HIGH PERFORMANCE SOLUTIONS.

Faced with ever-greater pipeline pressures and increasingly deep-water locations, today's operators need a rugged and reliable seal that can help deliver quantifiable improvements in operational efficiency and financial profitability.

The 8600 series products are designed and built to satisfy exactly this requirement.

They combine the latest advances in materials and surface texturing techniques to create the most advanced high-duty seal yet, capable of operating at over 200bar and speeds in excess of 50m/s.

UNIQUE LaserFace BENEFITS.

John Crane LaserFace advanced sealing technology will also occupy a prominent place on the company stand.

The unique LaserFace seal face structures feature a patented pattern of inlet and return microgrooves on the 'wet seal'.

These provide full fluid film lubrication at the sealing interface and also prevent excessive leakage, and this translates into significantly enhanced performance in demanding applications.

Reduced friction and wear characteristics ensure both operational efficiency and ongoing reliability, and ultimately generate tangible reductions in operating and maintenance costs for the end-user.

HIGH PERFORMANCE COUPLINGS.

Power transmission couplings will be represented by the range of Metastream products which benefit from the outstanding company technical expertise and extensive sector experience.

Proven in a wide variety of oil and gas applications right around the world these couplings feature a unique flexible element that provides superior performance even in the most demanding operational situations.
