The new engine peak meter from Kistler has been designed to simplify condition monitoring and preventative maintenance of large marine diesel propulsion engines.

The enhanced data storage capacity and powerful processing provides statistical analysis of peak combustion chamber pressure over 100 cycles plus an averaged pressure/time curve for accurate combustion analysis.

Two areas of memory provide storage for twenty records each to make use in confined spaces easier and minimise errors when data is being evaluated on a PC using the software supplied.

The enhanced functionality and evaluation software makes the new engine peak meter ideal for monitoring the cylinder pressure of large marine diesels to identify loss of compression so that corrective action to be taken as part of planned, out-of-service maintenance, rather than as an emergency repair.

The evaluation software facilitates simple representation and recording of both numerical data and pressure/time combustion curves before (as found) and after (as left) maintenance and adjustment.

The meter is hand-held and has a large LCD screen which, combined with the intuitive operating procedure, provides an easy to use instrument equally suitable for use in the engine room and the workshop.

The Type 2516A engine peak meter is supplied as a complete kit in a protective carrying case.

The kit includes the meter, a choice of pressure sensor, PC data analysis software, cables and accessories.
