New Kistler RoaDyn system with outboard telemetry
Kistler RoaDyn System 2000 measuring wheels are widely used to collect real time suspension performance data: now a new version is available for use on the smaller 12, 13 and 14 inch wheel sizes
Kistler RoaDyn System 2000 measuring wheels are widely used to collect real time suspension performance data: but the in-board telemetry system makes them unsuitable for use on vehicles with small wheels or large drum brakes.
Small wheels, in particular, have very limited space between the hub and the wheel, for mounting the telemetry equipment.
To provide a solution, Kistler has developed a version of the RoaDyn System 2000 specifically for 12, 13 and 14 inch wheels.
A two part-mounting package consists of an offset adapter, to suit the original wheel studs, to which the measuring wheel is fitted and easily interchangeable measuring wheel rims for 12, 13 or 14 inch wheels.
Data telemetry pick-up is by a new outboard, non-contact transmission unit weighing less than 500 grams, allowing the new system to be fitted to the vehicle simply and quickly, usually by suction pads to the vehicle body.
As with the in-board telemetry system, the new outboard system allows up to 24 data channels with a transmission rate of 2kHz and is compatible with all versions of the Kistler RoaDyn range without the need to adjust any existing components.
