Simplified combustion pressure measurement

A Kistler Instruments product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jun 25, 2007

The new Kistler pressure sensor for use in glow plug adapters removes the need to have more than one type of sensor available to cover a range of glow plug geometries

The Kistler Type 6056A is based on the well-proven M5 size sensor element fitted with a miniature connector.

This allows the sensor to be fitted deep inside a wide variety of adapter bodies.

The use of a glow plug adapter, in place of the original glow plug, permits cylinder pressure measurements to be taken close to the combustion without the need for a separate measuring bore.

Kistler designs and manufactures adapters to suit the geometry of the original glow plug and the cylinder head space available.
