Multi-connector simplifies sensor
installation
Increasing use of cavity pressure and temperature to monitor and control the injection moulding process is making the installation and cabling of the sensors both difficult and prone to error
To minimise the risk of such errors, especially in multi-cavity moulds, Kistler has introduced two miniature multi-channel connectors, to group signals from either four or eight sensors, whether pressure or temperature, into a single cable, for connection to the production monitoring system The new connectors use the Kistler single wire, cut and grip technology to allow the sensors cables to be simply cut to the required length on-site and connected and disconnected quickly and easily, without special tools

Miniature pressure sensor uses new DCE technology
A miniature piezoresistive absolute pressure sensor, Type 4005A, from Kistler uses Direct Chip Exposure technology to give superb linearity, minimal hysteresis and an extremely high natural frequency
The small size of the connectors, only 26mm deep, is especially important as mounting space on the mould is often severely restricted.
The addition of a new, miniature thermocouple amplifier Type 2205A, that can be integrated into the mould, extends the benefits of multi-channel cabling to combined pressure and temperature sensors.
The new Kistler multi-channel connectors and miniature thermocouple amplifier provide a mould sensor cabling system that minimises the risk of connection errors whilst being simple to install, and highly reliable.
