Rotary steriliser systems with better
lubricants

For oil and grease lubrication of Rotary Pressure Cookers, one OEM has recognised that when using Kluber lubricants, the operator can expect an extended lube interval over conventional lubricants

For both the oil and grease lubrication of Rotary Pressure Cookers, one OEM has recognised that when using Kluber lubricants, the operator can expect an extended lube interval over that of conventional lubricants This has come about after the OEM surveyed the operation of Rotary Steriliser systems maintained by Kluber lubricants

Following the survey Kluber products were designated as ELI (Extended Lube Interval) lubricants.

The ELI lubricants designated for these Rotary Pressure Cookers are Structovis EHD (oil), Kluberoil 4 UH1 460N (oil), Staburags NBU 12 (grease) and Staburags NBU 30 (grease).

For these products the OEM has now recommended the oil supply to be adjusted from 1 drop every 5 minutes for standard oils to 1 drop every 10-15 minutes and the grease re-lube be extended from once every 4 hours for the standard greases to once every 336 hours (minimum) up to 672 hours (maximum) dependant on conditions.

In addition to the extended lube intervals the end user can also expect to see good wear protection, good corrosion protection and excellent adhesion from the NSF authorised EHD oil as well as excellent ageing and oxidation stability, excellent wear protection from the NSF H1 authorized Kluberoil 4 UH1 460N oil.

For the greases the results are not dissimilar to those of the oils with the NSF authorised NBU 12 and NBU 30 offering excellent corrosion protection, excellent resistance to water and ambient media, high wear and load protection and good resistance to tribo-corrosion.
