Four-roll briquetter doubles production
capacity
A high-capacity roll press briquetter doubles machine productivity with a second pair of briquet-forming rolls, plus an improved gravity in-feed system for greater control of output consistency
A high-capacity roll press briquetter from KR Komarek doubles machine productivity by adding a second pair of briquet-forming rolls, plus an improved gravity in-feed system for greater control of output consistency despite the higher volume The four-roll Model DH500-28X27X2, offering throughput capacity up to 70 tph, is intended for briquetting chemicals and minerals for easier handling, blending, storing, shipping or reclamation

Mid-sized briquetter is improved
The B-220 Series pilot plant and small production volume briquetter from KR Komarek has been redesigned to simplify maintenance, facilitate roll changes and strengthen the drive train
Briquet sizes for these applications are typically in the range of 1 x 1 x 1 inches (44 x 44 x 28.5mm).
The four-roll machine also features a higher powered, 350-hp electric motor and a larger gearbox than the earlier standard two-roll DH500, with no increase in machine width.
Depending on the face width of its additional rolls, this high-capacity design typically requires only about 10-15% longer floorspace.

High-capacity briquetter forms larger briquets
A high-capacity roll press briquetter from KRKomarek produces briquets of ores, oxides, chemicals, plastics, solid fuels, minerals and a variety of waste or scrap materials, for easier handling
Symmetrical roll mounting -- in which rolls are suspended between their two shaft-bearing blocks -- permits the extended width of dual rolls on each shaft for the highest possible number of briquet cavities and unit production capacity.
The Komarek design also features external setting of lateral roll shaft alignment, allowing easy adjustment without use of shims and time-consuming disassembly.
Opposing rolls on the DH500 are horizontally paired and fed from above via gravity.
Rolls in each opposing pair are indexed so the half-briquet cavities (pockets) cut into the circumference of each roll will match up as the rolls turn, forming whole cavities as they pass through the roll centreline.
Loose material fills the cavities just prior to closure, and pressure applied as the cavities pass through centreline compresses the materials into a solid mass.
As each cavity passes beyond roll centreline, its two halves naturally move apart, allowing the formed briquet to drop out and discharge from the machine.
All Model DH500 machines employ two 12 inch (30.5cm) hydraulic cylinders to apply roll separating forces of 330 tons, with pressure maintained by a nitrogen-filled accumulator.
The accumulator accepts hydraulic fluid displaced from the cylinders during the compaction process, absorbing and giving back energy like a spring.
This closed hydraulic system assures that the rolls will remain under virtually constant pressure when separating under briquetting load, and allows easy control of roll separating force by adjusting the hydraulic pressure.
