Entry level, high performance flow converter
Krohne has launched the IFC100, a signal converter for its Optiflux range of electromagnetic flowmeters that offers excellent performance at an entry level price
The meter is available in 3 sizes with wetted parts in stainless steel and Hastelloy, and is suitable for flow rates from 0.3kg/h up to 455kg/h (0.66-16.5lbs/min).
Series 71 meters have small footprints for easy installation, and are available with standard 1/4" NPT or hygienic connections.
They also incorporate secondary pressure containment, and there is the option of a heating jacket.
Series 71 is manufactured in accordance with European Pressure Directives (PED) as well as Cenelec, ATEX and FM standards, making it suitable for use in hazardous environments.
Also launching as part of the new Optimass family is the Series 70, a range of straight tube meters to cater for a broad selection of flow rates and applications.
The new Krohne range of Optimass mass flowmeters incorporates an innovative new design of electronics which provides excellent flexibility.
The main converter can be mounted integrally or remotely at a distance of up to 300m, and requires only standard 4-core cable, while competitive systems can require up to 10-wire cabling.
As well as the main converter, a sensor signal processor is mounted permanently on the meter with direct connection to the sensors.
Both sets of electronics store the sensor data so that, should the need arise to change either set, the data can simply be downloaded.
The electronics are of modular design so that they will fit any of the meter sizes within the Series 71 range, reducing the spares stocking requirements.
To ensure the highest standards of quality and accuracy, all meters in the Optimass family have been rigorously tested.
Both Series 70 and Series 71 have been comprehensively tested at major chemical, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage sites in Europe to measure the mass flow of substances such as margarine, coffee extract and pesticides, and are delivering previously unattainable levels of performance.
