Krohne launches a high performance flowmeter for general industrial applications: the Optimass 1000 Coriolis mass flowmeter, a general purpose flow measurement solution - at an entry level price

Krohne launches entry level priced, high performance flowmeter for general industrial applications, the Optimass 1000 Coriolis mass flowmeter Building on the success of the award winning Optimass 7000, the instrument has been designed to provide industry with a high-performance, general purpose flow measurement solution - at an entry level price

The Optimass 1000 delivers best-in-class measurement performance, achieving an accuracy of +/- 0.2 per cent of measured value.

The instrument is compact, fitted with secondary containment as standard, in either SS304L or 316L stainless steel, and is also available with a liquid/steam heating option.

The Optimass 1000 uniquely has a single straight tube appearance but incorporates two close coupled measuring tubes which are pressure rated to 100 bar.

The maximum operating pressure of the instrument and the secondary containment are also rated to 100 bar.

The flowmeter is available in four sizes, S15(0.5''), S25(1''), S40(1.5'') and S50(2'') with nominal flow rates of 4,800 Kg/h, 20,000 Kg/h, 60,000 Kg/h and 125,000 Kg/h respectively.

Densities of materials can range from 400 to 2,500 Kg/m3.

The Optimass 1000 uses the Krohne modular electronics converters, which can be fitted across its range of flowmeters.

This allows instruments to be supplied with a converter to suit its intended application, providing either basic functionality or high-end specification with diagnostics capability.

Suitable for use across a broad range of industries including chemical, petrochemical, food and beverage, water and pharmaceutical, the Optimass 1000 will operate reliably between -40 and 130C.

The instrument can be fitted with most industry standard hygienic connectors and DIN, ANSI and JIS standard flanges.

"The launch of the Optimass 1000 will have significant impact on flow measurement," said Eddie Bridges, the Krohne global product group manager for mass flow.

"It offers high-end specification at an affordable price meaning that companies need no longer compromise on measurement accuracy and can now reap the full benefits of what this can offer their processes by reducing costs or improving quality.".
