Flow and level specialist Krohne has launched a new ultrasonic flowmeter for the measurement of gas flow in industrial processes The maintenance-free Optisonic 7060 has been designed to deliver long-term measurement consistency and reliability even under harsh conditions

It is capable of performing flow measurement in virtually any process application in its standard configuration, measuring flow in either direction in the pipe to which it is fitted.

The instrument will deliver accurate results regardless of wide variations in gas properties and process conditions such as density, pressure and temperature.

The Optisonic 7060 has specially designed ultrasonic transducers and a protected cabling system integrated into the meter body, which makes it compact and robust.

Extensive diagnostic features are accessible through the standard software package.

The flowmeter has no intrusive or moving parts and is therefore particularly suited for use in applications where pressure loss should be avoided.

The same features make the instrument maintenance free, since there are no parts subject to wear.

With a high turn-down ratio and low power consumption of less than 1 W, the Optisonic 7060 is expected to be of particular interest in applications such as process measurement in the chemical and petrochemical industries, check metering, power plants and compressor stations.
