spreading

Variable area flowmeters
Eighty years of continuous development allows Krohne to meet the requirements for the widest variety of process applications with the most extensive range of variable area flowmeters
This causes its flow rate to fluctuate by as much as 50 per cent and makes it difficult to control and measure how much has been spread from storage tanks as they move across fields.
It has also been virtually impossible for contractors to provide any evidence back to their customers about how much slurry has been distributed.
The Krohne Optiflux 1010W electromagnetic flowmeter has been designed to overcome these problems.
The instrument incorporates advanced measurement technology, which is highly accurate even when measuring substances with solid content or where there is turbulent flow.
The Optiflux is installed between the storage tanks and the distribution manifold and accurately measures the volume of manure being distributed across each hectare of land.
The flowmeter has been designed so as not to restrict the cross section of the pipe, which ensures that the accuracy of measurement is not affected by the presence of solid material, such as straw, in the slurry.
A PFA liner has been incorporated to ensure that the flowmeter operates reliably within this harsh environment.
The Optiflux flowmeter provides precise measurement across a wide and demanding range of applications.
It can achieve an accuracy of 0.5 per cent and reproducibility of 0.06 per cent, even when measuring materials with high solid content or that have turbulent flow.
