System checks electromagnetic flowmeters
in-situ
A fully portable in-situ calibration verification system for electromagnetic flowmeters (EMF) has been launched by flow control specialist Krohne
The MagCheck unit performs a complete functionality check on flow heads, signal converters and cables while the flowmeter remains inline, and captures data for download later The unit enables EMFs to be verified periodically in-situ, checking proper and accurate functioning of the meters to within +/-1% of their original factory calibration

Variable area flowmeters
Eighty years of continuous development allows Krohne to meet the requirements for the widest variety of process applications with the most extensive range of variable area flowmeters
The unit compact design and portability eliminate the local use of laptops, printers or other devices and enable periodic checking without excavating the EMFs or disrupting the flow.
This avoids the costs incurred by conventional methods of periodically verifying flow meters, which may involve removal from the line for calibration on external test rigs.
Once the cables are connected, verification is carried out automatically, with data subsequently logged into the internal memory.
No batteries or mains connection are required.
MagCheck is able to store verification data of up to 70 measuring points for desktop data processing, facilitating the early detection of drifts and trends in the individual measured variables.
The MagCheck PC programme also allows the easy printout of verification certificates.
MagCheck provides verified accuracy guaranteed to within +/-1% of the original factory calibration; directly retraceable to national and international standards.
It is compatible with Windows 95, 98 NT4 and 2000, and meets in-house regulations according to the requirements of ISO 9000.
MagCheck is compatible with all present Krohne convertor and sensor types.
