Variable area flowmeters
Eighty years of continuous development allows Krohne to meet the requirements for the widest variety of process applications with the most extensive range of variable area flowmeters
The tried and tested technology of the IFC300 signal converter with its extensive functionality provided an excellent reference point for the development of the IFC100, which is equipped with extensive diagnostic tools for checking device functions, executing out-of-spec diagnostic checks and for application checks.
The out-of-spec check determines, both online and at regular intervals, whether the device is still within its specifications, whilst the application check enables the device to identify whether gas bubbles are present in the medium.
For this reason, it is particularly suited for use where containers are batch filled or batch-emptied, which until now, has led to incorrect measurements caused by bubbles of partial filling of the pipe.

To increase efficiency of the process, the IFC100 also displays faults such as conductivity that is changing or is too low, electrode errors and media or ambient temperature levels that are too high, thus enabling the operator, under certain circumstances, to intervene in the process if necessary.
The IFC100 was designed with ease of installation and operation in mind.
The 4 push buttons on the soft-keypad allow easy operation, start-up and parameterisation, whilst the intuitive menus, integrated languages and large, illuminated display make operation very straightforward, even under difficult visibility conditions.
The IFC100 comes in both a compact version and a remote version, for situations, where temperature effects, vibration and site locations, make the instrument difficult to reach.
To ensure optimum readability and operation in both vertical and horizontal pipelines, Krohne designed two different compact versions: one version is ideal for vertical pipelines, whereas the 45degree version ensures that the display remains readable under all circumstances when the flowmeter is installed in horizontal pipelines.
Both compact housing versions can be rotated in 90degree increments, quickly allowing for customer-specific installation positions.
The IFC100 is compatible with all sensors in the Optiflux product line and offers users a maintenance-free, high performance converter at an entry level price.
