Designed to exceed the highest of safety standards, this new Continuous Monitoring Station (CMS) is top of the Lab-Impex range of a new generation of area and environmental monitoring systems Leading the field in safety integrity systems, the CMS-Gamma-SIL conforms to Safety Integrity level 2 (SIL2) in accordance with IEC 61508 guidelines and is intended specifically to monitor area and process radiation safety in nuclear facilities

Trevor Nicholls, Lab-Impex Systems Sales and Service manager commented, "We have designed this unit in anticipation of the more stringent safety regulations coming into place for the most demanding nuclear environments.

The modularity of this new range also ensures that users of our new CMS-Gamma, can upgrade to the CMS-Gamma-SIL should they, in future, be designated a SIL rated area".

A compact, mains-powered unit the CMS-Gamma-SIL is designed specifically for installed applications, but can also be used with a transportable frame or trolley to provide temporary monitoring during de-commissioning or to supplement permanently installed monitors during site maintenance procedures; providing essential, reliable measurement of Gamma radiation levels to personnel.

This versatile unit can also supply interlock control in hot areas.

The unit supports a wide range of detectors such as GM, Ion Chambers and Scintillation counters, which can be installed at distances of up to 1000m from the CMS station.

To ensure maximum user safety, the unit continues to monitor even when power loss occurs, for a period up to one hour.

All system parameters may be pass-code and key switch protected and can be modified and read using the local intuitive keypad and display or can be updated and read remotely via RS485/RS232 and TCP/IP web enabled interfaces.
