New high stability temperature calibration source

The new Landcal P1600B2 primary blackbody temperature source for calibrating industrial infrared radiation thermometers is smaller, lighter, more stable, more accurate - and sells at a lower price!

The new primary blackbody temperature source from Land Instruments International, for calibrating industrial infrared radiation thermometers, is smaller, lighter, more stable and more accurate over a wider temperature range than its predecessor - and sells at a lower price.

Recommended for temperatures from 500 to 1600C, the bench-mounted Landcal P1600B2 heats up to 1400C in 1.5 hours, with a stability of less than +/-0.5C over a 60 minute period.

The high emissivity 50mm x 300mm conical-ended blackbody cavity is heated by six equally spaced silicon carbide heating elements to ensure a uniform and stable temperature along its whole length.

Sighting tube diameter has been increased to 49mm, providing a larger target suitable for calibration of a range of temperature measuring instruments including thermal cameras and process imagers.

The source can be used as a primary standard - where the temperature is measured against a certified platinum thermocouple supplied as an optional extra - or for greater accuracy calibration by the comparison method can be adopted.

RS232C serial communications for programming the source temperature set points remotely is available as standard.

For ease of handling, the weight of the Landcal P1600B2 has been reduced to just 60kg.

Optional extras include an optical bench assembly to aid mounting and precise alignment of thermometers into the cavity.
