Laidler announces machinery safety course

A Laidler Associates product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Mar 4, 2009

Laidler Associates has announced course dates for the University Certificate in Professional Development (UPCD) in Machinery Safety.

The UPCD was launched recently in conjunction with the University of Teesside and forms part of the university's engineering degree faculty, and is also part of the Laidler's training services expansion.

It will make use of Laidler's virtual reality technology, which means that it can put a fully functional machine into any training room.

The certificate is in direct response to industry's need for training in critical areas of safety such as CE marking and PUWER (Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations).

The five-day course includes: risk assessment; introduction to work equipment inspections and CE marking assessments; and application of standards.

The UCPD comes with 30 university credits, which can be used towards additional formal qualifications, and courses will be run across the UK.

Dates confirmed so far are: 23 March - north west; 27 April - Midlands; 18 May - south east; 29 June - TBC; 28 September - TBC; 26 October - TBC; and 23 November - TBC.
