The French engineering company selected Lazaro Ituarte valves for the high class ratings and special valves to be installed in this project of value 330 Million Euro.
The type of valves required for this project ranged from 2500 ANSI Class 24 inch to MOV (Motor Operated Valves fitted with Rotork Actuators) with high quality requirements.
The capacity and flexibility of Lazaro Ituarte made possible the development of new designs and used international outsourcing of valve castings from France in order to fulfil the schedule for this project.
With a production capacity of 1,345,000 tonnes per annum of ethylene, this plant will be the core unit of the gigantic 10th complex to be built by the National Petrochemical Company of Iran (NPC) at the industrial site of Asaluyeh, on the northern coast of the Persian Gulf.
This unit will deliver the largest world output of ethylene to date, and will be the only large capacity steam cracker using both gas and liquid as feedstocks to produce ethylene and propylene.

Lurgi/Zagros: 4th methanol plant in Iran.
The concept applied in the plant was developed by Lurgi and is based on pure auto thermal reforming of natural gas with oxygen, using a purge gas from plants already existing at the location, to adjust the gas quality.
The output of the plant will be 5000 tonnes per day of methanol.
Lurgi selected Lazaro Ituarte for the high duty valves (under severe conditions) due to the high quality requirements and reliability of the products developed by Lazaro Ituarte.
Lurgi specially acknowledged the smooth execution of the order as well as the quality of the products, delivered in the third quarter of 2003.
