Technical guidance on temperature sensing
A new brochure provides product information and technical guidance on a wide range of temperature sensors and probe assemblies, installation fittings, temperature transmitters and in-head indicators
The choice of standard sheath materials include stainless steel, Inconel, Nicrobell, recrystallised alumina and silicon carbide; other materials are available to special order.
Depending on the choice of sensor type and sheath materials, temperature ratings of up to 1750C are available with single or duplex elements.
The comprehensive selection of mineral insulated thermocouples now features 0.5mm sheath diameter versions in addition to 1.0mm, 1.5mm, 3.0mm and 6.0mm.
The 0.5mm diameter thermocouples combine low thermal mass and fast response to temperature changes with durable construction; they are highly flexible and their use minimises process intrusion.
Mineral insulated PRT sensors are now available in a range of diameters and configurations to meet the need for high accuracy, high stability, sheath flexibility and robust construction.
Other additions include a range of surface air temperature sensors and special melt bolt assemblies for plastics machinery.
The introduction of a new, cast, stainless steel terminal head allows for various forms of "all stainless steel" construction both in terms of wetted parts and overall assembly; such assemblies are suitable for chemical, food and pharmaceutical applications.
All thermocouples comply with cable colour codes and tolerances to IEC 584-3 as standard but alternatives can be specified.
A family of installation fittings and compensating thermocouple connectors manufactured by Labfacility is also available from stock.
