Waste recycling and processing specialist MDJ Light Brothers has appointed Frank Devine as sales manager

Frank joins Light Brothers, whose business is expanding fast on the back of new regulations about recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), from Sulo MGB where he was sales manager.

Frank led the sales and marketing of the Sulo plastic refuse containers (such as wheeled bins) to the public and private sectors, as well as a variety of other waste and recycling - related products.

He was ultimately responsible for project-managing the introduction of wheeled bins at over 50 local authorities across the UK, and expanding the company's private sector business.

In his new role with Light Brothers, which operates five waste processing and recycling sites in Sussex, Kent and Northants, Frank will use his lengthy experience and network of contacts to help expand the MDJ Light business relationships with local authorities, waste contractors and business organisations.

Jonathan Light, managing director of Light Brothers, said: "We've grown particularly fast in the last 18 months, thanks to continuing investment in technology, staff, buildings and plant.

This has enabled us to secure a decent share of the waste electrical equipment market which became fully regulated in July.

But we are ambitious, and Frank will work closely with the management team to win further customers and contracts in the South East and the Midlands, for which his experience will be invaluable".

Welcoming his move to Light Brothers, Frank commented: "The waste and recycling market is changing rapidly.

It continues to be a key government policy area as it strives to cut waste, improve recycling and lessen the country's environmental impact.

This creates significant opportunities for marketing the expertise and capabilities of Light Brothers".

Using specialist equipment and expertise, Light Brothers provides a flexible, high quality WEEE collection and treatment service for domestic and commercial equipment sourced from local authority and private sector customers, as well as from waste contractors.

It was one of the first UK approved processors of fridges and freezers in 2000.

Light Brothers processes over 100,000 tonnes of ferrous and non-ferrous metals annually, as well as a range of other recyclable and reusable materials such as plastics, paper and glass.
