The new Plastics Research Centre will sit at the heart of all this new manufacturing capacity and is being project managed by Impact Laboratories, based in Grangemouth, Scotland, a spin-out of BP.
Impact has been instrumental in the design and layout of the centre, selection of processing and lab equipment, the new knowledge management and IT systems, and will also assist Listgrove in staff development and training.
Says Ryan Kirby, International Projects Manager at Listgrove, 'our remit is to promote this exciting project to candidates across the UK and the globe generally.
Tasnee is a growing player with large ambitions.
After the right candidates for these posts succeed in proving their abilities, they will be in prime position to develop world-class careers in polyolefins research and development and customer services'.
Rob Meek, CEO of Impact Labs says "we are pleased to be working with Listgrove to ensure the recruitment of senior technical staff.
The Tasnee research facility will be as good as its people and we aim to get the very best".
The new processing machine hall at the Centre is 3000m2 in area and is designed to accommodate future increases in equipment.
Leading-edge processing equipment has been selected to enable scale up from small laboratory sized quantities/products to semi commercial quantities/products.
With this capability the centre can get close to customer production scale.
The centre will have the capability of testing to all key ISO and ASTM requirements for the markets of interest.
Equipment is available to undertake a wide range of activities from failure analysis or polymer identification to understanding the influence of molecular structure and crystal morphology on physical properties.
Says Kirby, "Successful candidates will get to work with a total of nine new laboratories that have been equipped for physical and analytical testing, rheological and thermal analysis, molecular characterisation and microscopy studies, film, environmental, pipe and container testing".
The research centre will provide high value customer and industry support in product and applications development and also develop leading edge technology and environmental awareness in polyolefin-based plastics for the benefit of all its stakeholders.
The aims of the technical research centre will be firmly focussed on applications and the needs of the end-product.
Its tasks will include:.
* Product development.
* Assist manufacturing units.
* Promote and enhance downstream activities.
* Provide technical support for customers.
* Provide training for customers and in-house staff.
Part of the focus of the new research centre will be to drive downstream growth in the polymer industry of the Kingdom and to support the Tasnee regional and global market growth through product development, innovation and customer support.
