Upgraded batch tester for materials testing
For large scale automation in materials testing, Lloyd Instruments has now launched a new upgraded version of its Batch Tester program that is quick and easy to use
These include melt flow index (MFI), melt flow rate (MFR), melt volume rate (MVR), intrinsic viscosity (IV) and melt viscosity (MV) of PET, impact strength of plastic film, density measurement, HDT and VICAT.
Testing may be carried out throughout the entire manufacturing cycle of polymer products.
The precision-engineered manual MFI-9 and automatic MFI-10 melt flow indexers are specifically designed for determining melt flow index, melt flow rate and melt density/viscosity of polymers to ISO 1133 and ASTM D-1238 Methods A and B.

New solution casts a spell over Aluminium testing
Lloyd Instruments has been chosen by Pechiney, the world's fifth largest producer and converter of aluminium, for a pioneering testing solution to examine the strength of aluminium during casting
Both have excellent temperature control and provide outstanding accuracy and repeatability of results.
The unique Davenport Melt Viscometer offers significant cost and environmental benefits for PET testing, avoiding the need to handle and dispose of toxic solvents.
It has become a popular choice with resin producers and processors worldwide to monitor intrinsic viscosity and melt viscosity from incoming resin to finished product.
The Davenport HDT/VICATPlus has been designed to determine the temperature deflection of thermoplastic samples to national and international standards.
These are; VICAT: EN ISO 306, ASTM D1525-98 1/10, BS 2782 Part 1: Method 120C 1990 and HDT: EN ISO 75-1 and 75-2, ASTM D648-98C.
Other products covered in the brochure include density measuring columns, falling dart impact testers and inclined plane friction testers.
Density measuring columns are used for determining the density of solid plastics, while the falling dart impact tester provides a quick and simple method for measuring the impact resistance of thin flexible materials such as plastic films, plasticised papers and composite sheets.
The Davenport Inclined Plane is ideal for accurate, simple and quick checks of the coefficients of friction.
Also available is the new Lloyd Instruments FTPlus instrument, a dedicated friction tester conforming to the requirements of ASTM D1894, ISO 8295 and TAPPI T549.
The tester includes these standards as user configurable tests, with a further seven available for user custom configuration.
Lloyd Instruments also manufactures a range of materials testing machines (1 kN-300 kN, 225 lbf-67443 lbf), designed to determine the physical and mechanical properties of raw materials, components and finished products. Request a free brochure from Lloyd Instruments ...
