Logis-Tech Associates, a sub-division A-1 Technical Training, have just introduced a new HNC course in Chemical Process Engineering by open learning (SQA accredited) This course covers the basic fundamentals: Mass and Energy Balances, Separation Processes 1, Separation Processes 2, Transfer Processes, Safety Engineering, Engineering Project, as well as several optional modules: Mathematics for Engineering, Distributed Control Systems, Analysis Instrumentation, Measurement of Process Variables, Separation Processes 3, Industrial Studies 1, Industrial Studies 2, Engineering Computing, Plant Services, Quality Assurance: Introduction (IQA)

A total of twelve credits is required for the HNC certificate in Chemical Process Engineering.

This type of course is ideal for chemical process operatives/technicians, who wish to upgrade their qualifications and skills and who are unable to attend college on either a full-time or part-time basis.

Applicants are assessed individually for Open Learning, which is particularly suitable for people in business with little time to spare; people who are housebound; people who work irregular hours, i.e shift workers; people in remote locations, ie oil rig workers, process workers, etc Students can study at home or in the work place, in their own time, and at their own pace.
