Loma introduces the X4 X-ray inspection system

A Loma Cintex product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Dec 8, 2008

The X4 X-ray inspection system detects metal and non-metallic contaminants such as glass, stone, calcified bone, high-density plastics and rubber.

It can also show component count, zone mass measurement and shape conformity.

The X4 provides separate reject signals for each type of non-conformity so that contaminated and improperly packaged products can be separated.

The X4 detects non-metallic materials and works with products and packaging materials that metal detectors find difficult.

The X4 is not affected by the common limitations of metal detectors; for example, foil or metalised film packaging, and products with a high conductivity (such as wet products) do not affect the machine's performance.

The X4 X-ray inspection system features a high speed USB sensor and Windows XP operating system and a touch screen display.

It is available in belt widths of 300 to 600mm, with apertures heights to 250mm.

Product set-up is an automated process and can be accomplished with minimal operator training.

The X4 can be started up in 30 seconds.

It can hold thousands of product memories.

An optional barcode reader further simplifies product change-over.

The X4 complies with European standards and HACCP principles.
