The London MAS was set up last year to provide the capital's 16,000 manufacturers with expert hands-on support and advice in the face of increasing pressures from overseas competitors.

Manufacturers seeking help from the London MAS hotline can tap into a range of valuable services - from a day's free advice and research to five days' subsidised consultancy with MAS Manufacturing specialists.
"My specific role is to give initial assistance and support to callers and refer them on to our team of manufacturing specialists if necessary, " explained Daniel, who holds an engineering degree in manufacturing systems with business from Kingston University.
The Manufacturing Advisory Service is a DTI supported initiative to provide manufacturers with hands-on support and practical advice.
In London, the MAS is delivered by the Business Link for London, the largest business support organisation in the capital, and EEF South, the regional Engineering Employer's Federation, and is supported by the London Development Agency.
