Lovejoy 1000 Series Grid couplings feature an advanced design with a high-tensile alloy grid that reduces vibration by as much as 30 percent, cushions shock loads and compensates for parallel, angular and axial misalignment.

The 1000 Series Grid couplings offer 19 standard model sizes with nominal torque ratings up to 1,500,000 million inch-lbs.

These Grid couplings are also fully interchangeable with industry standard grid couplings.

Major industries such as food processing require a heavy-duty coupling with minimal maintenance requirements that will both withstand harsh and caustic cleaning cycles and yet not rust.

To help comply with strict USDA guidelines regarding food plant operations, an optional protective coating is available.

All Lovejoy 1000 Series Grid couplings are available with horizontally split or vertically split covers.

The horizontal split, designed for limited spaces and reversing shafts, allows easy access for grid lubrication or replacement.

Vertical split covers, made from stamped steel, are ideal for higher operating speeds.

Regardless of cover type, hubs and grids are identical and interchangeable within given size ranges.

Full spacer models are also available in eight smaller sizes, 1020 through 1090.

Designed primarily for reciprocal pump and compressor applications, a special drop-out section allows for convenient pump/compressor servicing.

The Lovejoy 1000 Series Grid coupling employs a high-tensile, shot-peened alloy steel grid that nests in the teeth of precision machined hubs.

The spring-like grid absorbs vibration and impact energy while steadily transmitting torque between hubs.

Hub teeth are specially formed with an axial curve that increases their area of grid support as the load increases, which progressively stiffens the coupling to absorb shock loads gradually.

The 1000 Series employs tapered grids best suited for medium- to heavy-duty applications designed for systems requiring horsepower ratings as high as 17,172 hp (at 720 rpm).

All Lovejoy 1000 Series Grid coupling models handle parallel, angular and axial misalignment between shafts.

Grid flexibility accommodates up to 0.022-inch of parallel offset.

Under angular misalignment up to 0.25 degrees, a rocking and sliding action of grid and hubs permits smooth operation without any loss of power.

The 1000 Series Grid coupling construction also forgives minor axial shaft movement, allowing end-float of both driving and driven shafts as the grid slides freely in the grooves.

Snap-in grid eases installation and replacement efforts.

All-metal design ensures reliable operation and long service life in relatively high ambient temperatures and the presence of certain oils or chemicals.

Lovejoy offers a large variety of stock couplings not only for immediate shipment of standard models but also for quick turn-around and shipment of special re-bore requirements.

Standard units up to size 1140 are available through the Lovejoy Quick Ship programme; other specifications may require slightly longer lead times.
