Larox Pumps replace AOD pumps on paint primer

A Larox Flowsys product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jul 16, 2008

James Hardie Building Products in Pulaski Virginia, the market leader in fibre cement technology, replaced its air operated diaphragm pumps for paint primer with Larox LPP-D20 hose pumps

Since changing to the LPP-D Pump, James Hardie has been able to remarkably reduce downtime and increase flow accuracy.

According to the engineering manager at James Hardie, the air operated diaphragm pumps were failing every three weeks, and a decision was made to find more reliable pumps.

By replacing the air operated diaphragm pumps with Larox LPP-D20 pumps, the company gained benefits, such as reduced downtime, increased flow accuracy and reduced maintenance labour costs.

The new pump yielded considerable savings also in spare part costs as the LPP-D hose is significantly less expensive than the replacement parts of the diaphragm pump.

In addition, the change led to reduced costs due to high air consumption of diaphragm pumps.

The rolling hose compression of the LPP-D offers a more reliable uninterrupted flow of the medium to the process compared to diaphragm pumps.

The customer is very pleased with the ease of use and maintenance as well as with the low operating costs of the new pump.

He states he has utilised hose pumps in the past but has never been able to achieve the same level of reliability and reduced costs as he is experiencing with the Larox LPP-D pump.

The customer also purchased another Larox hose pump, an LPP-D25.
