Confirming the impact its stainless steel motors have made on the food processing market, Marlin Stainless was a finalist in the annual 'Food Processing' awards event

This was the 24th Food Processing Awards event and is recognized throughout the industry as its 'Oscars', with awards going to companies that have made a contribution to developing and improving the industry Finalists are nominated by the magazine readers from a short list drawn up by a panel of judges

Marlin Stainless was a finalist in the Technological Development section, one of nine categories, and Marlin is the first ever motor manufacturer to be nominated.

Marlin was nominated because their stainless motors contribute to enhancing and simplifying hygiene procedures, because of its IP66 easy-to-clean smooth body and rapid payback time, plus extended life and reduced downtime.

These qualities have been demonstrated with installations in the pharmaceutical, dairy, fresh meat, fruit drink, salad and bakery industries.

Marlin motors are offered in power ratings from 0.18 to 7.5 kW in metric frame sizes up to 132 as TEFC machines.

Smaller units (up to 0.75 kW) are also available from 63 frame size as TENV machines.

Compatible stainless steel gearboxes are available, which extend the range of applications for the Marlin motors.

These worm gearboxes, which have hollow shafts with life lubricated gears, are available with centre distances of 31, 42 and 61mm with ratios from 5:1 to 75:1.

Torques range from 0.9Nm to 208Nm and options include gears with torque pins, food spec lubricants and various output shaft designs.

Other adaptations can be offered upon request.
