Following the acquisition of Spectral Dimensions in July this year, Malvern Instruments has added powerful NIR (near infrared) chemical imaging systems to its portfolio Analytical imaging specialists from the company are participating both as speakers and session organizers in November's 2006 Eastern Analytical Symposium which is taking place from 13-16 November at the Garden State Convention Center in Somerset, New Jersey

Dr Linda Kidder and Dr E Neil Lewis are organizers of the session 'Greater than 1000 points of light-chemical imaging' on Tuesday 14 November, in which Dr Kidder will present a paper entitled 'Near-Infrared Chemical Imaging for In-Situ Monitoring of Pharmaceutical Blends'.

Dr Lewis will also present a paper on Wednesday 15 November entitled 'Quantitative NIR Spectroscopy from a Different Perspective using Infrared Focal Plane arrays'.
