ProcessMonitor Mimosa is standards-based software, enabling interoperability between process control, maintenance management (CMMS), condition monitoring, reliability and other enterprise software systems from different vendors.
Dynamic market influences such as production commitments, energy usage contracts and pipeline capacity leases force business decisions on production targets to be taken on a daily basis.
These business decisions are made at the enterprise level with little or no consideration on whether or not the plant process equipment has the capacity and availability to meet this demand, leading to production target misses or even contractual penalties.
Productivity is frequently hampered by equipment breakdown, causing unplanned downtime, or simply due to poor maintenance planning.
Incorporating this real-time information in the decision making process increases productivity, lowers operational and maintenance costs and increasing asset lifetime.
"I am genuinely excited about the ProcessMonitor Mimosa product announcement from Matrikon.
I see it as another tangible expression of their commitment to open standards-based interoperability.
By developing products incorporating both Mimosa and OPC Foundation standards, they are demonstrating their active support of the OpenO and M Initiative, which enables and promotes open-standards-based interoperability in the operations and maintenance domain for plants, fleets and facilities" said Alan Johnston, President of Mimosa.
