Matrikon announces the latest MatrikonOPC User Group meeting and conference, to be held in Singapore on 29 July, followed by an optional three day hands-on training workshop

Speakers from Matrikon will explain the latest innovations in OPC technology, and user presentations from Australasia and SE Asia will share their experiences.

Free of charge, the User Group meeting enables discussions with integrators and vendors to assess the benefits of OPC for your organisation.

Learn how to optimize, implement and integrate OPC Solutions that will automate your Process Control systems and instantly improve productivity and communications for your company.

Today, discrete manufacturers and process control industries are facing growing challenges including limited resources; greater time pressures, new accountability regulations and budgetary restraints.

The MatrikonOPC Users Group Conference provides an environment that facilitates hands-on learning to overcome these challenges and provides integrators and end users with professional development that enables them to proactively counter these industry wide challenges.

This vendor neutral conference will assemble and educate discrete manufacturers, process control professionals and automation technicians.

* On 29 July, Bob Erickson, Regional Manager for MatrikonOPC Asia-Pacific will open the meeting and review the current status of OPC in the region.

* Perry Molendijk, Control IT Architect at Alcoa will then present a case study on 'Using OPC Integration Solutions'.

* 'Leveraging OPC to Facilitate Distributed Data Delivery' will be presented by Roger Fortune, OPC Support for MatrikonOPC.

* Jim Groutsch, Managing Director - Meteng Pty will present a case study discussing 'Interactive 3D Plant and Process Simulation Using Matrikon OPC Server Technology'.

* Eldin Dickinson, Principal OPC Consultant, MatrikonOPC Asia-Pacific will present 'The Importance of Using Proper Engineering Practices when Building OPC Solutions'.

* Nick Charnley, Process Specialist - TRUEnergy, Yallourn, will give 'Case Studies on OPC Communication with Bailey and GE Turbine Control Systems in Power Generation'.

* Then Tom Burke, President of the OPC Foundation will summarise with 'The Future of OPC Technology'.

The free of charge conference will be followed by a 3 day Level 1 and 2 - Hands-on Workshop, from July 30 - August 1, for which a training fee is chargeable.

The MatrikonOPC User Group Conference is a very important opportunity to learn about the technology.

Attendees will learn a lot about the different vendors and learn about the MatrikonOPC dedicated commitment behind OPC, as one of the driving companies for the OPC Foundation and the technology.

They are a company to watch and a company to stay in tune with.

The conference will be held at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, 1 Raffles Boulevard, Suntec City, Singapore 039593.
