Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Aug 21, 2007

Maxsys, the Walsall-based manufacturer of the energy saving Fuel+ System has been recognised for its innovative product by being nominated for a number of prestigious energy-related awards

The Fuel+ System, which guarantees customers a minimum 5% energy saving or a full refund, has been short listed for the Shell Energy Award at the 2007 IChemE Awards.

Examples of successful customers in this sector include resin and polymer manufacturer Scott Bader - who saved in excess of 5.7% of energy costs with the System, gaining a return of investment in just 14 months.

CIBA Specialty Chemicals achieved savings of over 7% (reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 420 tonnes per annum) when they installed Fuel+ on a fluid bed dryer.

In total Maxsys customers in the chemicals sectors have reduced their fuel bills by over GBP560k and reduced CO2 emissions by 5,900 tonnes per annum.

Maxsys has also been nominated for the Food Processing Awards in the Energy Efficiency section.

They have demonstrated their deservedness of this recommendation through projects such as Campbells Grocery Products .

Campbells had a resounding success with Fuel +, reducing their gas consumption by 5% on two twin shelled boilers.

Maxsys customers in the food sector have saved over GBP460k on their fuel bills and reduced CO2 emissions by 4,800 tonnes per annum.

Implementing the Fuel+ System at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend saved the Trust 5.1% on their steam raising boiler fuel bill, resulting in the Maxsys nomination for the NHS Environment Award at the Wales Business Sustainability Awards.

The Fuel+ System, which works using magnetic technology to reduce fuel consumption, is becoming increasingly popular in a variety of sectors - including automotive, brewing, chemicals, dairy, food, minerals, metals, paper, packaging, plastics, NHS, pharmaceuticals, textiles, rubber and steel - with customers such as Ford, General Motors, Coors, Constellation, Goonvean, GE Plastics, Nestle (Cereal Partners) Imerys, Michelin, Mondi, Union Papertech, DS Smith, International Paper, Arjo Wiggins, Toray Textiles and Servosteel.

The list grows as companies realise the significant savings the product can offer.

Maxsys Managing Director Barry Singh shares his thoughts on the company's success.

"As the Fuel+ System gains a higher profile throughout business, more and more customers are realising that our product offers serious energy, money and carbon dioxide savings.

With such short payback periods, and a money back guarantee it's an easy choice for any company wanting to cut costs to improve the bottom line without any commercial risk - and there aren't many businesses that wouldn't want that!".
