We have seen prices rise steeply in the last 12 months; at one stage people were concerned that the price per barrel of crude oil would top $50, now we have seen prices over $70 per barrel and no-one can predict where it's all going to end; one thing we can be sure of is that this will impact on our country's industries as well as our costs as consumers.
We are likely to see the costs of everyday products rise - everything from the price of milk as a result of the rising costs of diesel used in transportation impacting on farmers, through to rising fuel prices affecting the costs of moving goods from warehouses to the supermarkets themselves.
McKinnon and Clarke's customers already benefit from substantially reduced energy costs but during this time of continual instability drastic measures have to be taken at legislative level.".
