Clamp-on flowmeter for retrofit market
Micronics have launched the new concept Ultraflow 100 flowmeter aimed at reducing the lifetime cost of a retrofittable ultrasonic meter for measuring water flows in small pipes
The Ultraflow 100 is the first in a new range of competitively priced clamp-on meters aimed at the retrofit market for general purpose or secondary metering of water flows in small pipes up to 100mm bore In order to monitor the operating efficiency of heating, cooling and water treatment systems, which is required by recently introduced legislation, primary and secondary metering will soon become mandatory

The potential for non-invasive ultrasonic level and liquid flow technology in the process industry: a review by Ted Farnon of Micronics UK
The capital cost and inconvenience of installing the instrumentation required to carry out the monitoring process on an old operating system is often prohibitively expensive.
The Ultraflow 100 reduces that cost and inconvenience by eliminating the need to drain down and open a pipeline to insert a new flowmeter.
This innovative instrument arrives ready to install, being pre-calibrated for each application.
The transducers arrive with the grease interface already in place and on many applications a "dry" sensor-to-pipe interface simplifies installation even more, making the Ultraflow 100 unique amongst other clamp-on meters on the market.
The meter is supplied with the option of a pulse or 4-20mA, flow proportional output, already ranged and scaled.
An RS232 port allows the meter operation to be monitored using the Graphic User Interface and any PC, Laptop or Palm Top, using Microsoft 95 or later version.
Using the RS232 interface, enabled by a CD supplied with the meter, the operating parameters can be changed and access into a Help File and Diagnostics Software also becomes available.
This unique meter will be available throughout the UK on a 24 hour delivery basis, when ordered by phone with payment being made by credit card or ordered via e-mail, fax or by pre-approved account holders.
Distributors can order and have the meters delivered direct to site when they are required rather than being handled unnecessarily within their stores.
