The METcell is a newly developed lab-scale reactor
The METcell is a stainless steel, high-pressure stirred cell that is suitable for nanofiltration (NF) separations and for reverse osmosis (RO) using aqueous and non-aqueous solvents
Now, following customer demand, MET launches the Hastelloy METcell - all the great benefits of the original, but now available in Hastelloy, for use in an even wider range of applications.
What can you do with the METcell? The METcell is a benchtop, high pressure stirred cell, suitable for a wide variety of membrane applications, including micro- to nano- filtrations and reverse osmosis.
Use it to develop and test new processes, or speed up existing ones.

Nanofiltration/RO pilot plant available for hire
Following the development of organic solvent nanofiltration processes for fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals, Membrane Extraction Technology is proud to unveil its solvent nanofiltration pilot plant
Membrane-based applications include: product purification and concentration, size separations, chemical fractionation, catalyst recovery and reuse, valuable metal separation, solvent exchange, aqueous and non-aqueous separation, reverse osmosis, and filtrations in the nano to micro scales.
But the applications are not limited to chemistry - the METcell can be used for biological applications such as protein concentration, cell harvesting and enzyme purification.
Membrane scientists will find it invaluable for doing rapid screening of membranes, fouling studies and applications.
As it's made in Hastelloy, it means it can be used without corrosion in applications involving halide (e.g chloride) and weak acid solutions.
What else is great about it? The METcell comes pre-assembled and ready to use with its own gas pressure regulator unit - you don't need to order this separately, safety is built right into the system.
It is safe to use with volatile solutions up to 69 bar (1000psig) and meets the European Pressure Directive requirements.
It's unique in offering a separate connection port for an HPLC pump, allowing charging of solutions into the METcell without opening the cell, which is particularly useful when solutes are oxygen/moisture sensitive.
This means it can also be used in continuous operation, such as during a permeate recycle.
Thanks to greater membrane surface area, it is four times faster to operate than similar equipment.
Further advantages include excellent stirring, easy cleaning and assembly, low waste, compact design for use in fume hoods, comprehensive, easy-to-use documentation and excellent technical support.
How can you get one? You'd like to reap the benefits of having a METcell, in hastelloy or stainless steel, in your lab.
They can be yours at a surprisingly friendly rate - ask MET for a quote! But do not delay - MET is processing orders quickly, but demand and interest for this new product is high, so there is currently a waiting list.
If you have an interest, now is a good time to prepare for your future experimental success.
