The next generation of leakage reporting
MetaSphere has launched the next generation of its District Metering System (DMS), an end-to-end leakage reporting solution that allows better management of a water distribution network
With the insight to see things from a customer's point of view, Pete says: "My role at MetaSphere involves the practical application of technology to give the market true end-to-end solutions - with our own and partner products - so we are not just selling technology.
With the depth of understanding that comes from previous positions, I can see the needs of the market, and we can develop hardware and software to meet these demands".
Key to Pete's success will be his background in change management and integration within high level IT systems.
"It is all about taking data from remote locations, absorbing it into an enterprise and presenting it in an understandable way," he says.
One of his previous concepts involved capturing data from a number of diverse systems, including telemetry data, direct customer contact and call centre information, as well as the location and status of engineering works.
This data was streamed into a single package, which could be viewed and understood by an operator with minimum training.
It allows one person to check these different data sources and act accordingly to any changes.
Pete confirms: "That is an indication of the business insight that I will be applying here at MetaSphere".
As a time served electrical/electronic apprentice with the additional benefit of experience in asset management, Pete sits on the event committee for the IET (the Institution of Engineering and Technology) was Chair of the Telecommunications Association of the UK Water Industry (TAUWI) and was co-founder of the Water Industry Telemetry Standards group (WITS).
