The Metrohm 718 STAT Titrino is traditionally an end-point titrator, which can measure up to two end points In addition to measuring functions of pH, mV, Temperature, I Pol and Upol it also offers several other modes of analysis: STAT stat-titration (maintenance of a set pH or potential level); DOS dosing functions; DOC controlled dosing; TIP titration procedures (Method linking); STAT MODE This mode has been specially designed for pH stat applications using a fast controller and a new algorithm plus the storage capacity of up to 500 measuring points

The evaluation of the results can be programmed using up to 9 segment windows that allow evaluation of the rate at any point during the determination.
For optimal control of the analysis, limits for the measured values or the temperature, for example, can be set.
Should one of these limits be reached or exceeded, one then has the option to select between "stop", "pause", "hold" or a simple error message on the display.

Typical STAT applications are determination of enzymes such as lipase or trypsin, general kinetics for the reactions involving OH, H+ or redox components, during additions in organic synthesis, maintaining a constant pH, potential or temperature during a reaction.
DOS and DOC Modes are used in laboratories where organic synthesis is performed, reagents have to be delivered, monitoring not just one but several parameters.
With the 718STAT Titrino in its DOS and DOC modes, it is possible to combine multiparameters to control reagent addition.
This is not only based on reagent addition rate, but also pH, potential value or temperature.
Should a critical pH, potential or temperature value be reached, the 718STAT Titrino can be stopped, halted or paused until the value has dropped below the critical level.
A corresponding error message will appear in the print out of the measured values.
In order to characterise the synthesis completely, a measuring point list containing: time, volume, measured value as well as temperature, can be printed out or transferred to a PC.
Typical DOS mode applications are maintaining a constant flow as long as the temperature does not exceed a pre set level; delivery of a fixed volume of reagent at a rate of 10ml/min without pH and temperature exceeding a pre-set limit.
A typical application of the DOC is for adjustment of a solution of pH 4 to pH 8 by adding Na OH in exactly one hour.
Should the temperature exceed a pre-set level, contacts are activated to trigger an alarm signal or cooling device.
The TIP mode provides the link for all the methods of the 718STAT Titrino.
In the TIP mode, up to nine users methods, I/O commands or waiting times can be linked to one method.
Results of executed methods, which are used, for further calculations can be stored as temporary variables.
A new memory management allows processing of the silo memory without clearing it.
In addition, up to two titration results can be stored for each silo line.
This offers the advantage of performing titration's with different methods while static evaluation can be done at the end of the series of samples.
Connection to a PC or printer allows comprehensive documentation as well as backup of titration data for GLP documentation. Request a free brochure from Metrohm UK ...
