A low ionic strength pH measurement
solution

Low ionic strength pH measurement, in ultra-pure water, surface waters, upland river waters, rain-waters, drinking waters and other weakly buffered solutions, is easy with the Aquatrode Plus

Low ionic strength pH measurement: a solution from Metrohm, ideal for water analysis Using conventional pH electrodes the measurement of pH in low ionic strength media has always posed problems, both in the laboratory and in the field

These include lengthy times for pH equilibration (sometimes as long as 5 minutes), diaphragm blockages due to silver chloride leaching out of the electrode, or the necessity to add a salt to the water in order to speed up response times (this can affect the original pH).

Nevertheless, ultra-pure water, surface waters, upland river waters, rain-waters, drinking waters and other weakly buffered solutions still require precise measurement and rapid response times.

The Aquatrode Plus from Metrohm has been specifically designed for low conductivity waters and weakly buffered solutions.

* The newly developed membrane glass and optimised fixed ground joint diaphragm ensures precise measured values, a very rapid response and a resistance to contamination.

* The inner electrolyte is a maintenance-free gel.

* The outer electrolyte can be varied for different applications.

* The Aquatrode plus has internal shielding to reduce noise, which could otherwise threaten the stability of the signal from the electrode.

To conclude: the Metrohm 6.0257.000 Aquatrode plus has been specifically designed for pH measurements in low conductivity waters, making it suitable for a variety of environmental applications and applications for weakly buffered solutions. Request a free brochure from Metrohm UK ...
