Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Apr 4, 2005

A free Seminar will take place at Hull City AFC on 17th May, discussing 'Chemical Analysis in the Food Industry': let Metrohm explain their experience in analytical techniques in the food industry

Do you carry out, or do you wish to carry out any of the following analyses? Fat and edible oil analysis.

Shelf-life and antioxidant determinations.

Moisture content of liquids, pastes/ creams, solids, freeze dried foods and confectionary.

Chloride, sodium, free fatty acid, acid values, peroxide number, iodine number, saponification number, vitamin analysis, total reducing sugar analysis.

Anions, cations, organic acids and sugars by ion chromatography.

Trace level determination of heavy metals, in simple and difficult matrices.

Direct measurement of sodium in children's foodstuffs.

Plus a lot more ! Rancimat/Oxidative Stability.

Shelf life determination and monitoring the effectiveness of Antioxidants.

See the latest 743 model which now has low cost disposable consumables.

The Rancimat method for oxidative stability has become the industry norm in fats, butter, creams, biscuits, chocolate etc.

Automated Titration.

Required in every food laboratory, with state of the art instrumentation many tests can be automated including free fatty acids, vitamin C, chloride, acid values, peroxide number, iodine number, saponification number, total Rancimat reducing sugars etc as well as direct sodium measurement.

Karl Fischer Moisture Analysis.

This technique only measures water unlike the loss-on drying technique.

The Metrohm KF technique measures the moisture content of liquids, pastes and solids using ovens and homogenisers when needed.

Voltammetry.

A low cost and effective technique when compared with Atomic Absorption.

Heavy metals such as Cd, Pb, Se, Al, Ni, Co, As, Pt etc can be measured as well as Vitamins in a variety of food and beverages.

Ion Chromatography.

Anions, cations, organic acids and sugars can all be measured with IC in a variety of foods and beverages.

Let Metrohm UK take you through a variety of techniques and methods using our in-depth experience in analytical techniques in the food industry.

In addition to this we have a guest speaker who is an expert in ion analysis.

Who should attend? Anybody working in the edible oils, food/beverage industry undertaking or wishing to carry out the above techniques.

Also Included is a free Stadium tour.

Plus all attendees receive a 15% discount off any Rancimat purchased in 2005.
