Non-aqueous acid-base titrations

Nonaqueous titrations play a key role in monitoring product quality in many areas, including the pharmaceutical, oil, and plastics industries, as well as in edible oils and fats The Metrohm Solvotrode combination pH glass electrode has been specially designed for use with non-aqueous acid-base titrations

This new electrode makes complicated titrations easier because it can be used in many applications where it was previously necessary to use three and four electrode systems due to electrostatic interferences.

The pH glass membrane of the Solvotrode is designed with special low-impedance glass, shaped in a relatively large sphere, which results in very stable measurements, even in poorly conducting solutions.

The inner electrolyte tube of the Solvotrode is coated with a special conductor that ensures an optimally shielded reference system, regardless of the electrolyte level.

This additional shielding is particularly important for non-aqueous measurements and titrations since it will virtually eliminate static electricity interferences.

The built-in reference electrode is equipped with a removable PCTFE (polychlorotrifluoroethylene) ground-joint diaphragm that is easy to clean and less sensitive to contamination or blockage.

This new electrode also uses the Metrohm "Long Life" reference system: an Ag/AgCl cartridge with a silver ion barrier that ensures an extended life and consistent measurements.
