The new version of the Magma casting simulation software, MagmaSoft 4.4, is now available: it includes an impressive collection of new features as well as possibilities to evaluate the simulation
"Benchmarks comparing the response times of our current working environment with the new one clearly demonstrated the superiority of the new solution", Hein Strijbos, manager advanced and process engineering of de Globe, states.
"With the installation of two Magmasoft cluster licenses we do not only expect a quantum leap in calculation times, but also a real change in the way we work with Magmasoft.
The cluster installation of Magmasoft allows us do real experimentation on the computer screen.

"The dedicated requirements of de Globe for its casting design support and methoding work including casting property prediction for its complex cast and ductile iron components lead to the natural decision to give Magmasoft cluster a real thought.
The benchmarks we performed at Magma offered such a strong speed up to their current solution, which strongly helped de Globe to justify such an investment into their future.
The Linux PC cluster will be delivered by Linux NetworX, an acknowledged US based and world wide acting vendor of cluster technology.
The solution has been shipped completely pre-configured and customised with Magmasoft cluster.
First simulations have been successfully performed on the day of the installation.
It has been the aim of Magma since 1988 to provide a new view of the casting process through simulation and thereby support optimisation in all areas of the process chain from casting development to volume production.
The demands on the functionality and quality of castings and the productivity and reliability of the casting process are increasing continuously.
Today Magma GmbH of Aachen is the leading partner for the casting design and manufacturing industries.
Over 800 Magmasoft customers worldwide prove that the challenges facing the casting process can only be successfully met when the relevant knowledge, powerful software, and competent support work hand-in-hand.
With more than 25 experienced foundry engineers and as many engineers from other disciplines, Magma provides a fast and effective Task Force.
There are around 100 employees of Magma at five locations in Aachen, Germany, Chicago, USA, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Singapore and Hellebaek, Denmark.
Furthermore, Magma is represented by 20 competent partners worldwide.
