Level transmitter for retrofit external
mounting
The fastest and most efficient way to upgrade an existing magnetic level indicator (MLI) on a process vessel is to clamp a Jupiter 200 magnetostrictive level transmitter onto its by-pass cage
The installation can be performed under process conditions and without any modification of the installed equipment The Magnetrol Jupiter 200 uses the electro-magnetic field of the float inside the by-pass cage of the MLI to determine the liquid level

New fieldbus communications ability on Eclipse 705
The newest Magnetrol PACTware DTM is designed for use with the Eclipse Model 705, a GWR radar probe for level and interface measurement, with Foundation fieldbus communications
The Jupiter launches a high frequency signal over its probe (maximum length 5.7m; longer on request).
The magnetostrictive wire is caused to twist by the magnetic field at the position of the float.
This mechanical motion produces an acoustic signal that will be picked up by the piezo crystal inside the transmitters' head.
The measurement of the transit time between sending and receiving the signal results in a very accurate level measurement (+/- 0.4mm).
Since the signal has not lost any amplitude, it is capable of tracking a second float position (liquid interface) with the same accuracy.
When needed, the Jupiter sensitivity and float polarity can be adjusted to the used float type via its menu.
To eliminate all risks, ask Magnetrol to perform a quick and easy test procedure.
HART / AMS or Foundation fieldbus protocol enables the user to remotely configure the unit, monitor the measurement, identify malfunctions and realize effective troubleshooting.
The unit retains a history of events since its last reset.
PACTware-FDT technology and device specific DTMs simplify this even more over your PC/laptop.
The graphical display of the waveform and trending curves contain valuable troubleshooting information.
Externally mounted, the Jupiter is not affected by process pressure.
The device can handle process temperatures ranging from -196C up to +455C.
With a SFF of 90.7%, the Jupiter is suitable for use on SIL 2 loops (as 1oo1).
