Stainless steel air treatment equipment
range
Midland-ACS 3550 series 316 stainless steel air treatment equipment sets new standards for the food and petrochemical industry
A new range of air preparation equipment from Midland-ACS has been developed to give higher flow rates and more precise control of air pressure and flow in arduous environments such as food, water processing and petrochemical applications The 3550 Series encompasses 316 Stainless filter regulator units, filters, pressure regulators and lubricators

The flow rate has been doubled over that of previous models allowing smaller units to be specified, reducing both weight and cost.
Modular design and construction allows the new 3550 Series air treatment equipment to increase flow and further reduce weight in a Midland-ACS Impact 2000 modular actuator control assembly.
An Impact 2000 assembly mounts directly onto large valve actuators and can save 30% in weight and 25% of the cost of alternatives by eliminating the need for a mounting panel and extensive pipe work.

The introduction of new 3550 Series has reduced the weight of an Impact 2000 assembly still further by increasing the flow capability of the air preparation elements and therefore allowing smaller units to be specified for each application.
The flow rate of the 0.5" port size for example, has increased from 2.2Cv to 4.4Cv.
If the previous sizing policy is still applied, the result is increased flow and faster actuator movement.
All components in the 3550 Series including; filters, regulators and lubricators are manufactured from 316 stainless steel, allowing them to operate with gases including natural gas, inert gases and air.
They meet NACE MR-0175 approval and are suitable for use throughout the food, water, oil, gas and petrochemical industries.
Units are rated for outdoor use, heavy seas/on deck compatibility for platforms and shipping applications.
All seals and diaphragms are manufactured using Fluroelastomer for maximum wear resistance, corrosion protection and sealing capability.
For precise control of airflow in both the filter regulator and the pressure regulator units, an advanced rolling element diaphragm design is used.
The action is smoother and more progressive than standard flap type designs.
The 3550 Series units are available in four sizes from 0.25" to1" port diameter.
Flow rates range from 2.4Cv to 15Cv high flow version (217 dm3/sec), doubling the flow over previous models in most cases.
Filters and filter regulators have both manual and automatic drain options, regulators can be self-relieving or non-relieving and a range of mounting brackets, hand wheel kits and tamperproof kits are available.
Filter elements are 40micron as standard and are available down to 5micron.
Inlet pressures are 20bar (290psi) and outlet pressures can be selected using a choice of four springs from 2 to 12 bar.
Working temperatures vary from -200C to +800C as standard and a special low temperature version is also available for extreme conditions.
Construction is modular and draws on components kept permanently in stock, resulting in short lead times and guaranteed availability.
Midland-ACS has been a supplier of stainless steel air equipment to the processing industry for over 40 years and draw on a wealth of experience to produce their latest range of equipment, making them ultimately dependable as well as technically advanced.
Impact 2000 components have ATEX, NEMA, UL and CSA approvals and so are perfectly suited for both hazardous area and industrial use.
Units are all non-lube and will interface with all global pneumatic actuators, making them universally compatible.
