Tough pumps transfer liquefied propane
Dosing and metering applications in the chemical, general process and oil production industries often involve hazardous fluids such as methanol and glycol, which place tough demands on pumps
Dosing and metering applications in chemical, general process and oil production industries often involve hazardous fluids such as methanol and glycol, which place tough demands on pumps The Primeroyal range of dosing pumps, available from Milton Roy UK, are ideally suited to these demanding applications thanks to their robust design based upon the simple concept of a variable eccentric mechanism which ensures optimum reliability and easy maintenance

Dosing pumps ideal for tough metering applications
High pressure additive injection in oil production and transfer of thick, high temperature, corrosive and abrasive liquids, are the tough demands made for the new Primeroyal range of metering pumps
A recent example of their successful deployment is pumping liquefied propane at flows up to 22m3/hr at an LNG import terminal.
The pumps were supplied in triplex format, powered by a 75Kw motor and incorporated automatic flow adjustment provided via pneumatic controllers.
The pumps were ATEX certified and met API 675 specifications.
Primeroyal pumps can be specified with other design modifications to ensure a more compact pump so it occupies a smaller footprint, whilst also meeting the requirements of hydrocarbon processing, chemical processing, boiler feed water treatment and municipal water treatment markets.
The range provides flow rates up to 4410L/h at pressures to 500bar for the L model, with flow rates up to 8929L/h and pressures to 500bar for the N version.
The main material / hydraulic configurations for these pumps are 316 stainless steel, PVC, PVDF hydraulically actuated diaphragm liquid ends with a PTFE or stainless steel diaphragm.
Other features available include; double diaphragm, diaphragm failure detection, cooling / heating jacket, food grade design, multiplexing and automation capability, which together ensure these new models meet the demands of a variety of applications.
