As part of the Mixing Solutions presentation on oil applications at StocExpo Asia, Rob O'Brien will present a paper on side entry mixer applications, installation, operation and selection criteria
Particularly valuable will be an analysis of how Mixing Solutions is using Computational Fluid Dynamics to assist in providing the optimum solution to mixing requirements in the hydrocarbon industry.
Side entry mixers achieve and maintain homogeneity of finished products and prevent the accumulation of bottom sludge and water deposits in crude oil tanks up to 100metres in diameter and 160,000m3 (1,000,000bbl) capacity.
Other main application benefits include heat transfer or temperature uniformity, blending and BS+W control.
Mr O'Brien has a particular expertise in the field, with over 25 years of experience of applying side entry mixers in the oil industry.
He will illustrate his presentation with a case study, showing CFD in action.
StocExpo Europe takes place at the Antwerp Expo Centre from 20-22 March.
