Applied Measurements to distribute
Monitran LVDTs
Announced at MAINTEC, Aldermaston-based Applied Measurements has been appointed as the UK distributor for the full range of Monitran Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) products
Aldermaston-based Applied Measurements has been appointed as the UK distributor for the full range of Monitran Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) products LVDT is a well-established technology employed to measure linear displacement in not only a variety of industrial applications but, increasingly, LVDTs are also being used in consumer goods such as private vehicles

Simple pump vibration monitoring probes
The latest eddy current probes from Monitran, for non-contact vibration monitoring of pumps, have been designed to offer reliable AC or DC displacement measurement, with a 4-20mA output
New vibration sensor has choice of output signals
A new vibration sensor is designed to meet the requirements of building service managers, who are using vibration monitoring systems to help provide trouble-free utility services for their workplace
Monitran has been designing and manufacturing LVDTs for over 20 years and the current product range comprises three main types, Miniature, Industrial and Economy.
Each type is available in one of four mechanical forms and with one of six electrical characteristics: producing a total range of 72 products - all of which Applied Measurements will now market and sell into the UK.
Neill Ovenden, Monitran Sales and Marketing Director, comments: "Where linear displacement sensing is concerned, Applied Measurements is closer to the end-users than we are.
We will continue to manufacture existing product and continue developing new LVDTs but to best serve the LVDT markets it makes sense to use an experienced distributor like Applied, who will also provide product application guidance".
Under the distributor agreement Applied Measurements, perhaps best known for its load cells and pressure sensors, will take on the existing Monitran LVDT business in the UK and receive all future leads.
The manufacture of standard product, the customising of sensors for bespoke applications, stock control and future R+D activities will remain with Monitran, in High Wycombe.
The decision to supply LVDTs through distribution (only) was made by the new Monitran management team and constitutes an integral part of their overall strategy to become a total solutions provider in the field of vibration and displacement monitoring.
From the perspective of Applied Measurements, taking on the Monitran LVDT product line enables the company to offer a broader range of quality, cost-effective measurement solutions and to grow its business.
