New programmable eddy current probe
driver
Monitran, a world leader in the development and manufacture of sensors and systems for vibration and displacement measurement, launches an innovative and extremely versatile eddy current probe driver
Unlike traditional eddy current probe drivers, which are typically purely analogue and which have to be manually 'tuned' to the application, the MTN/DSPD-40 is fully programmable Internal memory contains two calibration tables, used to tune the sensor for use with specific materials, for example, carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium

Simple pump vibration monitoring probes
The latest eddy current probes from Monitran, for non-contact vibration monitoring of pumps, have been designed to offer reliable AC or DC displacement measurement, with a 4-20mA output
New vibration sensor has choice of output signals
A new vibration sensor is designed to meet the requirements of building service managers, who are using vibration monitoring systems to help provide trouble-free utility services for their workplace
Users can also load their own tables via the driver RS485 serial port, or supply Monitran with samples of the material to be tested and its engineers will create the tables.
Bob Pickard, Monitran Technical Director, comments: "We believe the MTN/DSPD-40 is the most advanced and cost-effective eddy current probe driver on the market.
No other driver offers similar flexibility".
The driver has a multimode power supply and multimode analogue output, set by the user.
Data collection and parameter selection can be through any standard terminal programme and the driver has selectable filtering.
It weighs 160g and is packaged in a DIN rail mounted plastic enclosure (measuring 80 x 60 x 25mm) with flameproof and waterproof versions available.
Ideal applications for eddy current probes include industrial, aerospace, automotive and scientific research.
Pickard concludes: "The development and launch of the MTN/DSPD-40 once again exemplifies how Monitran is bringing innovative, worthwhile solutions to market".
The MTN/DSPS-40 can be used with any of the standard Monitran eddy current probes, plus Monitran offers a full custom design service should users need bespoke sensors.
