Mogensen sells more equipment to British Gypsum
British Gypsum recently commissioned Wright Engineering to install a Type S 3006 Sizer and a matching Type F3005C spreader feeder, both fully dust-proofed, at their East Leake Mine.
British Gypsum have been users of Mogensen equipment in several plants for almost 40 years, and recently commissioned Wright Engineering of Worksop to install this new sizer and spreader feeder.
The work was completed in November 2006 and the plant is reported to be operating satisfactorily.
The Sizer is a 5-deck, 3-metre wide machine, the largest Mogensen model, driven by two Invicta rotary electric vibrators Type BLz 60-105/6 each rated at 6200 watt.
The feeder is designed to distribute the feed evenly across the whole width of the Sizer to ensure the most efficient use of the machine and is also powered by Invicta.
The plant is handling 500 tph of <100mm ex-mine gypsum making separations at 25mm and 16mm or 8mm depending on feed quality.
The output from the top two decks of the Sizer is combined to form the +25mm fraction.
Below that the static product chute is fitted with three product selection flaps each controlled by two Kinetrol pneumatic actuators, which enable the operator to accept or reject individual deck product streams to match process quality requirements.
The flexible, dust-proof sleeves connecting the Sizer to the feeder and the static chute-work were also supplied by Mogensen.
This plant is similar to the successful S 3056 / F3005C combination supplied to the Antofagasta plant of Inacesa in Chile in 2002: this Sizer is the first 3-metre wide Mogensen bought by British Gypsum.
